Beautiful Yellow Bead Agate Necklace
"Agate is a micro crystalline variety of silica, chiefly chalcedony, characterized by its fineness of grain and brightness of color. Although agates may be found in various kinds of rock, they are classically associated with volcanic rocks and can be common in certain metamorphic rocks."

Beautiful Handmade Jewellery
At Jess's Jewellery we don't just sell on the jewellery we come across on our travels, we are so passionate about jewellery that we actually handcraft our own lovely articles as well!

I'll give you a basic run down of what we have on offer:

The History of Jewellery Part 1
The first traces of jewellery were found in Africa and date back 75,000 years!
The first articles of jewellery were crude and were made from materials such as snail shells, ostrich eggs, bones, teeth, and even berries.
It was only around 7000 years ago that the first articles of copper jewellery started to appear. These were more advanced, but still lacked the refinement that was to come 2000 years later with the jewellery made in Ancient Egypt.
Around 3000-5000 years ago, Ancient Egypt started to produce jewellery that was far more luxurious than any made before. They were a rich society and jewellery was now crafted out of far more expensive materials such as gold. Jewellery became a symbol of wealth and power, and was not only worn in life, but in death also.
Recently on a trip to Egypt we managed to acquire a few items of beautiful jewellery which will soon be available in our shop for sale at bargain prices.
